
Wow! What a weekend!
We had a number of Fr Murphy Athletes and Fr Murphy Associate members competing over the weekend!
It started on Friday, with the Schools North Leinster cross country. We had a number of Athletes representing their respective schools.
Fr Murphys had athletes running from Rathcarn Pobscoil, Trim Scoil Mhuire and Mount Sackville.All athletes ran fantastically!!
Jack Moran finished 8th in minor boys and Vivienne Larkin finished 4th in minor girls to progress to the Leinsters. Vivienne also aided her school to a gold team medal!

On Saturday the Intervarsity Indoors set the weekend of Indoor Track and Field of to a great start.
Zoe Mohan representing DCU threw in the 8kg weight for distance. She took the Gold while just falling shy of the National Record with a throw of 8.65m
Robbie Higgens representing Maynooth University, threw for a first place position in the 16kg weight for distance. He took Gold with a throw of 9.11m
On Sunday, the Masters Indoors took place in Athlone.
Mick Priest claimed gold in both High Jump and 800m. 2 gold medals were just the start as he also claimed a new national record in the High jump over 70.
Mick led in the 800m but into the second lap he was pushed back to 2nd place, a serious battle in the final 100m ensued with Mick claiming victory on the line.
Mick will be part of the national masters squad next month traveling to Portugal!
David Rock showed great form starting the new year in the long jump and 200m over 45 catagory.
David jumped his way to silver in the Long Jump!
Associate Fr Murphy member, Jean Daly took gold and a new national record in the weight for distance with a throw of 6.24m in the womens over 55 catagory.
Jean also took gold in the Shot W55 with an incredible throw of 8.22m
Well done to all athletes, the hard winter training is showing itself now, we are looking forward to the coming outdoor season!
